ENGLISH VERSION.
We had a full house at our community gathering in the Maldron Hotel on the 24th of April.
The gathering had three aims:
To raise awareness of the work An Bruach Thoir is doing in the Gaeltacht of Galway City East.
To ask the community to share their ideas, opinions and thoughts on growing an Irish language community in the east of the city.
To attract more of the community to participate in our events and to help us re-invigorte Irish in the area.
Here are some of the ideas that came to the fore:
• More social opportunities to speak Irish (events, festival, pastimes, clubs, walks and so on).
• More opportunities for Irish learners (including scholarships, ciorcail comhrá, etc)
• An Irish-language centre in the area.
Seven Irish learners were presented with scholarships on the night.
